  • Is Mindful Leaf a real medical clinic?

    Mindful Leaf is a holistic health clinic, focusing on holistic, general, alternate and mental health treatments. Our clinic employs experienced nurse practitioners able to prescribe plant based medicine products for a spectrum of physical and mental health conditions and standard mental health treatments.

  • Why choose Mindful Leaf?

    Mindful Leaf provides empathetic, comprehensive and seamless health care. Our qualified Ahpra-registered health clinicians are experienced in prescribing plant based medicine for a spectrum of physical and mental conditions, personalizing treatment to suit your condition and requirements.

  • Can I access Mindful Leaf even if I live remotely?

    Mindful Leaf operates as an online clinic. Appointments are conducted through telehealth, allowing you to access our service from the comfort and privacy of your home, regardless of your location.

  • How can Mindful Leaf help someone like me?

    We can guide you in plant based healthcare options for the first time or continue to support you if you have had extensive experience. Our nurse practitioners are experienced in plant based and mental health treatments and will develop a treatment plan with you.

Bookings & CONSULTATIONS

  • What should I expect from a Mindful Leaf consultation?

    During your initial 40-minute telehealth consultation, we will ask questions about your medical history, current symptoms, and history and knowledge with plant based and other medicines.


    By the end of the consultation we will be able to discuss your treatment including the plant based options. You have the opportunity to ask any questions about your treatment.  At the end of the consultation, if applicable, we will make an application to the TGA to have your plant based therapy approved.


    When your first consultation has been communicated with your treating team and any approvals have been sought our nurse practitioners will call you to confirm the approvals, provide education and provide training on how to use your prescription. We again give time for you to ask questions and have them answered to your satisfaction.

  • Are Mindful Leaf consults telehealth or face-to-face?

    Our consultations are conducted via telehealth, enabling you to connect with us from the comfort and privacy of your home. 

  • Do I need a referral?

    No referral or pre-screening tool is required to be seen by Mindful Leaf. We specialize in Plant based therapies but see your health as the focus of our interaction, not just the completion of a script. We will refer you back to your local GP if required.

  • How quickly can I book a consult?

    Our bookings are available on-line, typically you can book an initial appointment with the Mindful Leaf team within 48 hours. We will respond to our existing patients on the same day.

  • How much does a consult cost?

    Mindful Leaf is a fully bulk billing clinic, there is no cost to our patients for consultations or follow-up.

  • Why do I need a follow-up consult?

    Follow-up consultations allow the Mindful Leaf to enhance your treatment, we can change the strength, dose, brand or formulation of your prescriptions to ensure that you are receiving the maximum benefit from your treatment.

  • Can I reschedule my consultation?

    Yes – you can reschedule your appointment via mindfulleafclinic.com.au.

  • What is Mindful Leaf's cancellation policy?

    At Mindful Leaf, we understand that unexpected circumstances may arise, making it challenging for you to keep your scheduled consultation. Please contact us within 24 hours to cancel appointment. This allows other patients a chance to be seen.

  • How do I cancel my consult?

    If rescheduling isn’t an option and you need to cancel your consult, there are a number of ways to do so.

  • I had to cancel my consult. How do I rebook?

    If you would like to rebook your consultation, you can do so at mindfulleafclinic.com.au.

  • Is there a minimum age for a consult?

    At Mindful Leaf we do not provide service to children. Young persons who believe that plant based therapies would suit their condition should consult their own GP or specialist physician. 


    Patients need to be over 18 years of age.

Insurance & Benefits

  • Does health insurance cover treatments offered by Mindful Leaf?

    Most private health insurers cover some or all of the costs for our interventions and treatments. However, this is the decision of the insurer so please make sure you check your insurance coverage before making a claim

  • Can I claim my consult through Medicare?

    Mindful Leaf consultations are bulk billed, there is no charge to the patient.

  • Do you offer benefits to concession card holders?

    The Mindful Leaf is a nurse practitioner lead health service. All of our consults are bulk billed, unfortunately currently DVA patients cannot be issued with an authority script by a Nurse Practitioner.

  • Does the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme cover plant medicine?

    The Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) only covers some medicines.  FDuring the consultation and follow-up process we will inform you of whether your medications are covered by the PBS.


    Note that some private health insurers also offer coverage for non-PBS medications, please check with your insurer.

Medication & Prescriptions

  • Which pharmacies does Mindful Leaf work with?

    When the Mindful Leaf prescribes you a plant based or other medicine, you can elect to get it at your local pharmacy or use our partner pharmacy, Essence Dispensary.


    Essence Dispensary offers an alternative medication range which is extensive and high-quality, which can be conveniently delivered by express post anywhere in Australia.

  • Can I make changes to my prescription?

    As with all prescribed medication, the only way to make changes to a prescription is by talking to your prescriber. You can book a follow-up appointment at any time to review your treatment or leave a message on the phone or e-mail and we will get back to you.

  • When and how do I order refill medication?

    The prescription will come with a specific number of "repeats". Repeats refer to the number of times you can order your medication. You can reorder or refill your medication by contacting your regular dispensing pharmacy with a current script.


    Some medications may require more information to accompany the script the staff at Mindful Leaf or your pharmacist can let you know what else is required.

  • How do I get a repeat prescription?

    If you have used up all the repeats on a prescription and need it to be re-issued, book a follow-up appointment with Mindful Leaf's through the web page or telephone app. 


    Please do not wait until you run out of medication before you book, allow enough time for your appointment and for the pharmacy to order and deliver your medicine.

  • How long does a prescription last?

    An initial prescription does not have any repeats.We contact patients within 1-2 weeks of their initial prescription to check their satisfaction with treatment and ensure that it meets their requirements. 


    Potentials treatments are tailored to specific needs but length of the prescription can possibly be extended to up to 6 months.
